This painting is sold...but please remember, that horses can no longer be exported for horsemeat consumption from the States, & Canadians should be fighting companies that have moved to Canada in order to do exactly the same thing here...(6 big horsemeat companies moved here since the Americans banned this practice...Let's ban it here too!)
On September 15, 2009, it will be decided whether my across the street
neighbour will be allowed to stay in her home or if it will be torn down
to build a sales centre for a condo building...
There doesn't seem to be any protections for buildings in Toronto if
someone buys the property & wants to just tear it down...
Even if the builder put alot of love into the work, the only
protection in place at the moment is for the structure to be declared
heritage...
But what about contemporary works? The studio of Moriyama & Teshima is
done in the brutalist style, function over form...This style has been
very successful in Canada because the exterior facade is simple & easy
to maintain, while the delights are hidden inside...For theft
protection, as Mexican home builders know, this is clever...Make all
the homes look simple on the outside, even devices such as a high
stone wall masking any architectural niceties will do, while leaving
the true beauty & innovation to the inside architectural structure...
Inexpensive looking outside, while gorgeously appointed inside...Like
a very gorgeous woman sporting no makeup or fancy clothing when she
emerges in public, thus being able to take a bus or walk down the
street, unimpeded by security issues...(more later after I get some
sleep...sigh, tired...)
We went to Rattray marsh again today...I love marshes...We ate
hotdogs, fed popcorn to seagulls, watched a black Australian Cattle
Dog mix nub-tailed named PABLO swim a mile to get a red ball...After
to Sherway gardens, to Fairweather to say hello to Anita the model who
works as a salesperson there, to update about Muse 09: Grey Matters ,
the art show seeking to raise funds for a transcranial doppler
ultrasound machine which can read brain blood flow, & blood
blocks...Anita modeled for the painting titled "Salesgirl" ...should I
say "Saleswoman" ? We visited PJ's pet centre & saw a female brindled
boxer puppy, a Bernese Mountain dog cross poodle puppy with white feet
& black coat...& kittens including a bengal domestic short hair cross
kitten, a ragdoll, a blue eyed siamese kitten in whitish beigepoint, &
two extra tiny young kittens who one loved me to stroke the side of
the face...& a big blue bird parrot family 3 months old named
TARZAN... WOW! p.s. please note, in Canada PJ's pet centre is a pretty
nice place & so far, from what we have seen, aren't bad at all...I
don't think every single pet store on the planet is evil- contrary to
popular belief by organizations who are maybe not seeing the whole
picture...I think that some pet stores are bad & some are good & some
are a little bit of bad & good...I am sorry to say that I really
really like PJ's pet centre, & I just think that they try really
really hard to be as good as they can be & that their people too try
hard...I also want to say that so far, they are the only place I have
found where you can buy a pet without having to sign a contract saying
you will surgically remove the reproductive organs of your pet as soon
as possible...& I think that that is a basic right & I am going to
protect that right by supporting people who allow people to make
choices about their pets' reproductive rights...
I don't care what people say, I think that mandatory spay neuter is
for people who are irresponsible, & should not be forced upon those
who wisely know how to handle issues, such as seeking alternative
method for heat season control, putting same sex kittens together,
keeping kittens indoors if intact & other possibilities that also can
work...I see a future where cats & dogs & people can keep their
reproductive organs...without having some crazy veterinary technican
foaming at the mouth at you that your pet will get cancers if you
don't rip out their ovaries...Bull...That's like saying people won't
get brain cancer if they get a lobotomy...It's just a dumb
argument...I'd rather have a pet with ovaries & testicles, than a pet
with diabetes & chronic renal failure...
p.s. Michel's Baguette had great wildberry smoothies...
p.p.s. I also think that early spay & neuter is very dangerous
(particularily now) insofar as the
general anaesthetic is very dangerous for a young kitten, as well as the
surgery stifling growth of crucial internal organs in the pelvic region
possibly contributing to the current ubiquity of hip dysplasia...& when I
say possibly I mean probably...Also, due to the current kidney failure &
kidney weaknesses caused by laziness & irresponsibility on the part of
breeders who are overproducing cats while feeding merely commercial cat foods
potentially containing still trace elements of melamine...-due to that fact,
normal parameters for experimental surgeries are not available...Our bengals
reached heat at 8 months old...Surely surgeons could wait at least until
first heat, surely...(Nutro was the food that caused our neighbour's puppy
to develop chronic renal failure after an early neuter...When I warned of
the dangers of Nutro, first time dog owner said this is what the breeder
fed...Fuck that shit.)
